Ingredients

For 2 braids
1000gr Brioche bread flour or bread flour
250gr Granulated Sugar or bread flour
250ml Milk warm and full fat
3 Eggs
80gr Butter
1 1/2 envelopes Dry yeast
1 orange Orange Zest
1/2 envelope Mastic powder
1/2 envelope Mahlab powder
Egg wash 1 egg yolk and a little bit water

Brioche is a kind of sweet bread and we eat it throughout the year and especially on Easter! It is very tasty and a very good alternative for breakfast! I prefer eating it while I am drinking my coffee! The ingredients are for two braids but if you want to make 4 just double the ingredients. It's a very tasty and rich Easter Bread! You can not go wrong with this recipe!

Tip: Do Not Over Mix with your hands while adding the flour just knead until you've used all the flour

In a bowl add the eggs and the sugar and beat it for a few minutes with your hand mixer.

In the warm milk add the dry yeast and let it activate(it takes a few minutes). Add it to the eggs.

Add the mastic powder, the mahlab powder and the orange zest and beat it again for 1-2 minutes.

Using your hands add the flour while kneading.Knead until you've used all the flour.

Let it rest and rise someplace warm. I prefer my oven.It will take about one hour or so.

When it's doubled its size it is time to make the braids.Make the braids and place them on a non stick baking dish or placed at the bottom non stick cooking paper.

Let the braids rise again(1 hour approximately) and then coat them with the egg wash.

Preheat your oven at 175 degrees Celsius and bake them for 30-35 minutes or until they have gain a nice brownish colour.
