Ingredients

750 gr Soft flour
1 tsp Granulated Sugar
4 Egg yolks
1/2 cup Mastic liqueur or you can use brandy but I strongly recommend to use mastic liqueur
1/2 tsp Nutmeg grounded
2 cups Almonds chopped roughly and roasted(without their skin)
500 gr Icing sugar
2 sticks Vanilla powder or you can use one envelope vanilleta
500 gr Dairy butter at room temperature

Kourabiedes is a one of the most famous Christmas desserts in Greece.They are like soft biscuits with crispy almond chunks. Recipes for kourabiedes are plenty with small variations but this one is a hit! Trust me!

In a large bowl place the butter and beat it with your stand or hand mixer until it gets really soft(it can take up to 10 minutes).

Add the sugar and beat it again.

Add the egg yolks one at a time.

Then add the nutmeg and the mastic liqeur and beat again.

Now using your hands add the flour and mix it with your mixture.Add as much flour as you need so that you have a non sticky dough.(It usually takes all the 750 gr flour).

Add the almonds and mix it together with your dough and create small balls or half moon shaped cookies(I prefer the round shape) and place it on a baking dish
